Lavender Baroque Wedding at Arbor Manor
Hannah & Grant
This lavender Baroque wedding combined a white ballroom with pastel florals and classy jazz music that perfectly represented Hannah and Grant’s love story.
Hannah and Grant first met after matching on the Mutual dating app. At the time, Grant was living in Rexburg, Idaho, and Hannah was living in Island Park, an hour away. Despite the distance, Grant made the long drive to take Hannah on a date to a cute little diner down the street. They had a great time getting to know each other and discovering that they had a lot of “nerdy obsessions” in common (Hannah’s words).
They both had so much fun that they decided to schedule another date, and from then on, Grant drove to Island Park every weekend just to spend time with Hannah.
On New Year’s Eve, Hannah and Grant had driven to the dunes in Rexburg to have a bonfire and watch the fireworks. They decided to exchange their Christmas gifts, and Grant gave Hannah a little antique wooden box. Inside were a handful of matches and a note that said, “Strike a match and make a wish before the flame goes out, and if you do, the wish will come true.”
They both made wishes, and Grant’s wish was to “spend the rest of my life with the most beautiful and bright woman on Earth” (Grant’s words). Then, they put the burnt matches back in the box, Grant closed the lid, and he shook the box.
All of sudden, there was a rattle coming from the inside. Grant opened the box, and the burnt matches were gone. All that was left was a ring with a note attached, saying, “Wish Granted”. Hannah said “yes”, and the rest is history.
Hannah and Grant were sealed for time and all eternity at the Bountiful Utah Temple. They then exchanged rings at Arbor Manor, surrounded by family members and friends.
It’s always such a joy to watch two people commit to starting a new life together, especially when you can feel the love emanating from everyone there.
Hannah and Grant are easily one of the most relaxed couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Weddings can quickly become stressful, but Hannah and Grant made it a priority to spend lots of time together on their wedding day—soaking up the emotion and enjoying this special time with their loved ones.
Hannah told me that the part of marriage she’s most looking forward to is building a life together with her best friend. And after spending only a few hours with Hannah and Grant, I can definitely say that their friendship is one that will last through the ages.
From the cake cutting, to their first dance, to hearing their friends and relatives tell heartwarming stories about their relationship, there was nothing but smiles, laughter, and love.
As Hannah and Grant prepared to share their first dance together as husband and wife, there was a technical difficulty with the music. After a few moments of waiting in silence for the song to start playing, the guests began singing “Can’t Help Falling in Love” a capella. It was such a sweet moment watching Hannah and Grant wrapped in each other’s arms as everyone sang for them.
As the night drew to a close, Hannah and Grant exited the reception, bathed in light from dozens of sparklers, before driving off into the night to start their new life together.
Hannah and Grant, I’m so grateful I was able to capture this beautiful, tender moment in your lives. Your love story began when you each chose to swipe right, and I hope you’ll continue to choose each other every day.
